Many have asked me whether it's worth appealing an NCA assessment or a failed exam paper. Let me tell you, each situation is unique! I've seen folks successfully appeal their assessments and failed papers, but I've also witnessed some unsuccessful attempts.
When dealing with assessments, it's crucial to keep an eye on the NCA rules and guidelines posted on their website. If you notice something fishy or out of the ordinary, then sure, go ahead and appeal. However, if everything seems in line, it might be better not to waste your time.
Exams can be a bit tricky too. I've had countless people approaching me, wondering if they should appeal their exam marks. The thing is, some of them fail to realize that they actually messed up their exams big time. Let's say you nailed all the legal points, but you failed to link the case's facts to your analysis - well, that's like a zero for that question. The NCA examiners can be lenient and give you some marks for general legal discussion. But keep in mind, the exams are open book, and copying and pasting some general legal discussion from your notes won't show them that you truly understand the stuff. Knowing when you're wrong can save you time and money.
Don't assume that if you're close to a passing grade, the NCA will automatically reconsider your mark without solid reasons from you on why your paper deserved more points.
