Writing your Exams from Home

 Registration Deadline:

Please be aware that the registration deadline to apply for the August 2020 exams with the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) is June 19th at noon ET.

Online Exams:

The NCA has recently announced that they will be adopting an online exam format. This online format will be utilized until they decide to revert to in-person exams.

This development is particularly beneficial for candidates located in countries without NCA testing centers. As long as you have a stable internet connection, you can now take these exams from the comfort of your home, eliminating the need to travel to Canada or an approved writing center.

During the registration process, you will encounter a drop-down menu in your portal where you can select the testing center for your exam. While you have the freedom to choose any location, it is advisable to consider time differences. Exams in British Columbia may be held at different times compared to those in Ontario, and it is likely that the online testing will follow similar testing hours as before.

The Advantages of Typing:

For a long time, students have been requesting the option to write their exams electronically to enable typing out their answers. Previously, this option was mostly reserved for those with specific accommodations due to disabilities. Typing offers a quicker and more convenient way of answering questions compared to handwriting, where legibility can suffer under the pressure of time constraints. With typing, you can easily add or delete sentences, providing a substantial advantage over hand-written exams.
